About the RDHAP Profession:
An RDHAP (Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice) is a licensed dental professional in the state of California. Most RDHAPs have many previous years of experience in the dental field. They have furthered their education by receiving additional training from an accredited program in treating patients with special needs, such as patients with mental or physical disabilities whose health conditions limit their abilities to access quality dental care. The RDHAP is dentistry's equivilent to the nurse practitioner.
The RDHAP delivers oral hygiene care to homebound clients, children in school setting and clients in residential care facilities and other institutions.
The RDHAP may also establish practices in communities that have been designated as dental health professional shortage areas.

I love people and I love the dental profession! I have had the pleasure of working in this field for all of my adult life. I started right out of high school as a dental assistant in 1990. Shortly after in 1992, I obtained my first official California licence as an Registered Dental Assistant. In 1997, I graduated from West Los Angeles College of Dental Hygiene and recieved my license as a Registered Dental Hygienist. I have worked full time in a wonderful private practice all along. I completed the post graduate RDHAP program from the University of the Pacific in 2014 and obtained my RDHAP license. I have over 25 years experience in the dental field as well as training in the most current and effective techniques used today. I am a true believer that everyone deserves appropriate dental care and I am dedicated to help bridge the gap for those who deal with an inability to reach a normal dental facility.
On a personal note, I have lived in Placer County, mainly Loomis my entire life. I married my husband in 1995, and we have three children (two boys and a girl). In my free time I enjoy supporting our kids in all their sporting events (wrestling, football, soccer and swimming). I love being their mom! I also love playing with our three dogs, gardening and traveling.
